To outright claim a ‘global conspiracy’ of powerful social engineers only serves to further polarize an already highly contentious issue, but it is increasingly difficult to ignore the idea. From as far back as the treaties of Westphalia (1648) and Utrecht (1713), the Congress of Vienna (1815) and Treaty of Versailles (1919), and the Bretton Woods Agreement (1944) all are examples of the powerful practicing social re-engineering to suit new economic and therefore social and political realities. None of this is negotiated nor decided upon by the normal citizen, it is in fact the super powerful among us who do. The question remaining is whether they do so for us or for themselves.
